Medical Journal

Background
A publication on Surgery, requiring a combination of text retrieval. Containing thousands of images related to surgery to be integrated in the CD.

Search software both for text and images.

Requirements
The integration work required Word documents and TIFF files to liaise closely to old infobase and to ensure that the functionality required for the end-users worked properly to maximise usability and therefore customer acceptance in accordance to the hard copy of the journal.

Integration of old infobase in new infobase.

Reconciliation with the previous version of the same CD which were in other Version of Folio

Solution

• The publisher chose to use Folio Views 4 for the main CD-ROM application.
• We have developed the SGML to Folio converter.
• The scanning and retouching of images.
• Carried out the conversion build and delivered a final product to the publisher ready for replication, packaging and distribution.
